Anxiety is defined by science textbooks as a physiological and mental state, which is characterized by physical, emotional and behavior manifestations. Typically a certain impulse, called the stressor triggers an foreboding reaction from an individual and it is often connected with assorted feeling like fear, nervousness, worry, agitation and worry. Stress can be classified in 2 parts, dependent on the effect it's got to certain people; it can either promote a positive reply from individuals making them perform better or it can create a amazing negative impact and make individuals absolutely lose their composure and finish up being in a condition of stress. Since, anxiety involves the mental state an individual is into; hypnotherapy is a positive means in relieving symptoms and identifying root issues in anxiety attacks.

According to a nursing theoretician, Hildegard Peplau, there are 4 levels of anxiety: mild, moderate, grim and panic levels. Mild uneasiness is usually distinguished by a positive awareness of an honest to goodness event or a problem; moderate nervousness on the other hand is a perceived going down that could be real or not, exactly like in taking an examination and not knowing what will be the result; serious anxiousness nonetheless is a state whereby a person experiences severe dread where there is absence of attention and focus, this is going to be accompanied by physical symptoms like sweating, headache and chest pain; and with panic level, people lose total control and focus and may infrequently cause danger to themselves or to others.

People may experience all of these levels through their lifetime and be well placed to cope up appropriately. However for some people who have Problems in coping and have an increased reaction to stressors whether real or understood, they should seek the services of a hypnotherapist to work with them and discover the factors leading to stress and anxiety and find out the alternate ways to avoid them or deal with them.

Agitation has effects on people from all ages and varies in manifestations depending on a person's coping mechanisms. And with hypnotherapy, an individual will know if their agitation is a disorder and what category their symptoms will be classified into, the 4 classes are: generalized anxiousness disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder or post-traumatic stress disorder.

Hypnotherapy will be conducted, first to trace the sources of triggers for an anxiety episode, so what the hypnotherapist will do is to take a detailed history to work through with the client on the possible circumstances of the anxiety. This is a very important part of the hypnotherapy as it will decide the methods to be used in hypnosis for anxiety.

In cases when the client can't consciously identify the trigger factors, the hypnotherapist will now conduct the hypnosis for anxiety to work through with the client. The objective of this process is to allow the client to have an altered state of mind so the comatose mind can direct them to certain events, places or people that are related to the anxiety episode. By identifying the trigger factor for anxiety, both the hypnotherapist and the client can work out a plan on the way to deal if not avoid such trigger occurrences.

The next step for the hypnotherapist to conduct is to provide a positive sensitizing event, where the bad memories will be faced by the client or it will be replaced by new and positive thoughts so that a closure of prior negative events will take place. Once this is accomplished the hypnotherapist will work with the client in determining what self-hypnosis for anxiety tricks or techniques may be employed to consciously redirect the client's mental condition in cases of panic attacks.
